here are lots of free educational and fun activities going on at Hawai‘i State Public Library System, including its
branches in Central O‘ahu.
Among the offerings this month alone at the
Wahiawā Public Library are a Kids’ Hour Kei- ki Craft Time from 10 to 11 a.m. on May 21. There’s also a book discussion for adults about the title Pachinko by Min Jin Lee on May 31. The library’s Chess Club, meanwhile, meets there at 4 p.m. Thursdays, excluding holidays.
Hawai‘i State Public Library System’s latest reading challenge is also being held through- out May to celebrate Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Sign-up or log in for the challenge at librarieshawaii.beanstack.org. A special virtual program in honor of this month’s theme with artist and illustrator Solomon Enos will be at noon May 21. Enos will talk story about his art and Hawaiian science fiction followed by a question-and-answer session. To register, go to librarieshawaii.org/event/solomon-enos.
