During a recent roofing estimate, Bernard C. Balais, president and responsible managing employee of West Oahu Roofing, Inc. was asked a very important question from a potential customer.
The potential customer asked, “I have received several roofing estimates for my roof from different companies. Why are the roofing prices very different from each company?”
Balais’ Response:
There are many reasons roofing prices can vary but we will discuss 3 main reasons for price differences.
1. Materials
Each roofing company has their
preferred roofing manufacturer. Not all roofing material quality and durability are the same. Along with that not all material pricing are the same. It is important when comparing roofing estimates to compare all aspects of materials when going over estimates.
2. Workman Compensation Insurance & General Liability Insurance
All Licensed and professional roofing companies must have Workman Compensation Insurance & General Liability Insurance. Having these insurances increases pricing but at the same time it insures that if there is any type of accident at a jobsite – there is no liability put on the homeowner after the fact.
3. Safety
All licensed and Professional
Roofing Companies must abide by the OSHA standards for safety. Which means all employees must be trained and must utilize all fall protection safety protocols while working.
