fter dedicating the last 25 years as a volunteer serving homeless and un- der-served members of the local com-
munity, Kapolei resident Kara England is using a radical approach to change lives and make a difference for others.
From giving her time in homeless and do- mestic violence shelters to donating school supplies, clothing and Christmas gifts by the carload, England developed a passion for help- ing those in need. After teaching art classes and delivering food to kūpuna via multiple church- es and community organizations, the concept for The Radical Hale became clear: a full-ser- vice outreach and case management service.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, England’s business closed, and so she was able to foster her passion for helping others full time. Her outreach started with simply caring for indi- viduals on the streets by passing out food. The growing number of homeless was hard to ig- nore, giving her a chance to learn the effective processes on how to support these individuals.
