rittnie Caraulia of Helemano Ele- mentary School in the Whitmore Village neighborhood of Wahiawā
has been named 2022 Hawai‘i Counselor of the Year. Hawai‘i School Counselor Asso- ciation sponsors the accolade, and Caraulia is now eligible to be considered for the Na- tional School Counselor of the Year Award.
She was recognized by the association’s president, Nicole Colello, during a surprise faculty meeting.
“It is such an honor to be recognized as the 2022 Hawai‘i School Counselor of the Year. The greatest reward is making a positive impact on the lives of all of my students, while working alongside some of the most amazing educators at Helemano who believe in their success as much as I do. I am so blessed to do what I love every day to support my school, staff and stu- dents,” Caraulia states.
Helemano Elementary School principal Ernest Muh nominated Caraulia for the award.
