elping others can turn out to be a blessing in itself. Volunteers of Praying Pelican Missions landed
on O‘ahu last month hoping to leave a last- ing impact on the local church community, including Windward’s Parker United Meth- odist Church in Kāne‘ohe. And it seems the sentiment was reciprocated.
Praying Pelican Missions is an operation based in Minnesota that helps coordinate short-term mission trips across the globe. It was founded more than a decade ago and finally made its way to Hawai‘i for the first time this year.
“We were invited to come to Hawai‘i through a pastor in Kaua‘i and decided to reach out to pastors (on) O‘ahu about re- ceiving teams as well,” states Carissa Hil- debrandt, location launcher for Praying Pel- ican Missions.
Hildebrandt notes the organization “exists to build up, encourage and assist the local church in serving and reaching their com- munities for Christ.”
