ailua’s iconic Pali Lanes will celebrate a milestone — 60 years in business — with a birthday party slated for 3-6
p.m. on Sunday, May 30.
Tickets to the event are $30 and include
three games, shoe rentals, one raffle ticket, one Spam musubi and — because no birthday party is complete without cake — one cupcake.
“People can also purchase additional raffle tickets on the day of the event for just $1,” states Christian Arakawa, manager for events and scheduling for Pali Lanes Bowling Center. He adds that raffle prizes range from jewelry and clothes to gift cards and a grand prize of a trip for two provided by Mokulele Airlines.
“There will also be a side jackpot for any bowler who wishes to enter. But most impor- tantly, people will see Pali Lanes at its best, serving the community and being the gathering center of Kailua.”
Arakawa admits it’s a bittersweet moment, “but it also feels like a happy ending,” he adds. “Pali Lanes was supposed to close years ago, but thanks to the community and community
