NBY WEST O‘AHU VOICE STAFF
onprofit Family Programs Hawai‘i is currently searching for volun- teers on the Westside, specifically
in Wai‘anae and Waipahu, for Project Vis- itation, which supports keiki who are in foster care.
The purpose of the initiative is to give siblings who are placed in different re- source care homes a chance to see each other — and it’s made possible by com- munity members who are willing to help.
Volunteers must have a valid driver’s li- cense, go through a background check, and have a licensed and insured vehicle.
The state’s First Circuit Family Court and the Department of Human Services created Project Visitation, which is led by Family Programs Hawai‘i, a social service agency that hopes to improve the lives of children and families in the child welfare system.
To become a volunteer, call 808-521- 9531, visit familyprogramshawaii.org/vol- unteer and fill out the online form, or email volunteer@familyprogramshi.org.
