self-taught auto mechanic who soaks up technical knowledge like a sponge, John Davis is the co-owner
of LS Automotive Repair & Transmission LLC. It has locations on Kilani Avenue in Wahiawā and Leonui Street in Waipahu.
Now that his business partner Lester Cote is moving out of state, Davis will soon be taking over as sole owner.
Originally from Mililani, Davis says he dropped out of ‘Aiea High School because he wanted to get into the workforce as soon as possible.
“Cars have always been my passion. It kind of comes natural and I’ve been doing it forever. A lot of people know who I am and I get a lot of referrals,” shares Davis, who resides in ‘Ewa.
“I’m a hands-on kind of guy. It takes years to learn and hone your skills and you’ve got to learn based on experience,” he adds.
