• FAIR Central O‘ahu residents can participate in the free online 31st annual Leeward Community Col- lege Discovery Fair, which will be held from Nov. 6 to 13. Leeward CC plans ed- ucational and fun activities for kids and their families to experience at home to- gether. The virtual event will
also feature opportunities to win a variety of prizes from local businesses. ‘Ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro will introduce each of the online events. More than 20 activities led by Leeward CC faculty members will be accessible online at leeward. hawaii.edu/fair. Among the topics are “propagation of stonecrops” by Daniela El- liott, “family yoga” by Kel- ly Kennedy, “how to make ice cream in a bag” by Cara Chang and many others. • VETERANS Because of COVID-19 rules, the Wahiawā Lions Club’s seven decades tradition of hosting a Veterans Day pa- rade has been suspended again. Instead, members of the club will host Veterans Day sign-waving from 10 to 11 a.m. Nov. 11 along Kamehameha Highway in Wahiawā. Visit the website ourwahiawa.com for an ap- plication. Participants need to hold “Mahalo Veterans” signs and follow COVID-19 regulations. The club will also have a bento fundrais- er for the nonprofit orga- nization U.S.VETS, which assists veterans.
