he Friends of the Kailua Library an- nounced the top winners of its Cre- ative Book Advertisement Poster
Contest with a ceremony on April 15 at the library.
Winners of this year’s contest are Vivian Woods (first place), a fourth-grader at Ka- inalu Elementary School; Lillian Duffield (second place), a sixth-grader at Mokapu Elementary School; and Ireland Fabinal (third place), a sixth-grader at Enchanted Lake Elementary School.
The participants were asked to create a poster that would entice someone to read their favorite book. The posters were judged on artistry, design and use of a creative slogan, and catchy phrase or de- scriptive words. Woods’ book was A Wolf Called Wander, Duffield’s was Wings Of Fire and Fabinal’s was Dog Man.
Woods received $75, Duffield earned $50 and Fabinal got $25 for their prizes. All winning posters were displayed in Kai- lua Public Library and Friends of the Kai- lua Library Bookstore.
