has been drawing comics, writing stories and creating fictitious worlds.
His efforts have culminated in the new graphic novel for kids that he has written and illustrated titled Haku and Sam, released by Kāne‘ohe-based BeachHouse Publishing LLC.
Similar to the Narwhal and Jelly series, but with a local angle, Petosa-Sigel’s graphic novel is geared toward keiki ages 6-9 and is set in Hawai‘i. Readers will meet the main characters Haku and Sam, find out how they become best friends and follow their island adventures.
The book is designed to be funny, touch- ing and relatable for any child who is anxious about making a new friend and having some- one to share adventures with. According to BeachHouse Publishing, Haku and Sam is the first graphic novel for beginning-level readers.
