A blessing ceremony Feb. 1 marked the grand opening of Kūpuna Power at Wind- ward Mall. What started as a one-day infor- mational fair at the State Capitol has expand- ed into a multifaceted brand that includes a television program, civic outreach and retail product line now headquartered at the mall.
Kūpuna Power is located on the first floor near Ross Dress for Less. Kūpuna and their families can visit for important information and other resources and tools needed to help them live better, healthier and more inde- pendently for a longer period of time.
Kumu hula Frank Kawaikapuokalani Hewitt performed the blessing. Guests were entertained with music by Art Kalahiki. Among those in attendance included state Sen. Jarrett Keohokalole, city Councilwom- an Esther Kiaʻāina, and former Gov. John Waiheʻe.
