dpr ... West side residents still have time to spring into action for Ronald McDonald House Charities Hawai‘i’s virtual Red Shoe 5K. Participants can walk, run, bike, hike or swim anywhere, anytime during the family-friendly event through April 24. Proceeds help families with seriously ill or injured children who stay at Ronald McDonald House while getting medical care on island. “This event has become a popular way for in- dividuals and organizations to form teams, develop camara- derie and encourage wellness while raising money online foragoodcause,”statesCan- dace Asam-Lopez, director of development. “Because The Red Shoe 5K is virtual, anyone from any location can participate.” Registrants will be mailed a pair of RMHC signature red and white striped socks, race bib, finish line tape, McDonald’s coupon and a mystery Hawai‘i-brand- ed gift. T-shirts, caps and medals will be awarded based on the amount of money each participants raises.
