Making it easier to dig up information
about one’s family tree, Makakilo Hawai‘i Stake, which is a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is hosting ‘Oha- na Discovery Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 23 at Makakilo Stake Center, located at 92- 900 Makakilo Drive.
‘Ohana Discovery Day is an event dedi- cated to “help the community learn about the available resources and information to do family history,” states Makakilo Hawai‘i Stake president Mark Piena.
Some ways Makakilo Hawai‘i Stake plans to do just that is by offering family history workshops and genealogy charts. There also will be hands-on activities for adults and kei- ki at the family-friendly event.
Piena notes ‘Ohana Discovery Day is an opportunity to “strengthen family ties across generations.”
Attendees are expected to be of all ages and varying ethnicities. For this reason, SEE PAGE 4
