Here Comes The Mother Of All Thank-yous
The moms in our lives are such blessings that one day just isn’t enough to celebrate the im- pact they make on our world and in our lives. So, I’m dedicating my columns this month to our greatest gifts — our moms, of course — who, among the many things they teach us, are compassion, em- pathy and love.
up very early to go to one job and then going to her second job with no break in between. That hard work paid off when she could eventually support our family with just one job. So, the things I learned from my mom are to be grateful for having a good job, work hard and have good work ethics.”

“One thing I remember growing up is hard work, like cleaning house, is always more fun with everyone do- ing it together and loud music playing.”

“The greatest lesson my mom has taught me was, ‘If can, can. If no can, no can.’ When I was unsure of my- self, scared of failing, afraid of change or taking risks, my mom would always tell me that quote. “I am most grateful for the lessons of hospitality and gen- erosity that I learned from my mother. She taught me that it is more blessed to give than to receive and demonstrated that to me by going above and be-

“My grandma acted as my mom and taught me two of the most valuable lessons. One, work hard and do your best. Two, be a good person. They weren’t outright instructions, but the way she lived her life.”
Jason Harada Kalihi
“My momma taught me that hard work always pays off, to be kind to others and to love life and one another, and
that God loves me and blesses me every day with that I have. I’m so grateful for my mom- ma.”

“My mother always taught me never go to bed without saying ‘I love you.’”
