undreds of bicyclists will roll through East Oʻahu on Sept. 25, as they participate in Hawai‘i Bicy-
cling League’s 39th annual Honolulu Centu- ry Ride, the largest cycling event in the state. Hawai‘i Bicycling League is finally mov- ing forward with the event after putting it on standby since the onset of COVID-19. According to Christopher Salas, Hawai‘i Bi- cycling League events director, the nonprofit was not able to host its annual occurrence since 2020, due to lockdowns, but is putting
it back in rotation this year.
The organization is helping many make
up for lost exercise and outdoor time with its Honolulu Century Ride, which allows cy- clists to take part in a 100-mile scenic route.
“The cycling route takes them from Ka- piʻolani Regional Park along the South Shore to the East shores of Hawai‘i Kai, over historic Makapuʻu Lookout into Kailua, through the beautiful back roads of Waimānalo, through Kāneʻohe to Kamehameha Highway, where they will ride into the beautiful North Shore
