fter a three-year hiatus, the Wahiawā Pineapple Festival is back — in a big way. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on
May 6 at Ka‘ala Elementary School at 130 California Ave., everyone is invited to gath- er together and enjoy games, entertainment, history lessons and food.
“The festival is a perfect way to support our local businesses in this tough economy,” explains Rene Mansho, secretary of the 2023 Wahiawā Pineapple Festival committee or- ganization.
“People will meet their friends and neigh- bors on a bright sunny day in Wahiawā,” adds Mansho. “Visitors will learn about the history of Wahiawā and our pineapple her- itage. Families will enjoy games, entertain- ment and ‘ono food.
“Let’s also pay tribute to our military who keep us safe and free. Come and cheer for the best local entertainment in town,” Man- sho says.
Contests slated for the festival include a pineapple baking contest with famous chef SEE PAGE 5
