The annual Rell Sunn Menehune Surf Contest took place on April 8-9.

The event supports the Rell Sunn Educational Fund. The legendary queen of Mākaha, Rell Sunn may have passed away in 1998, but her legacy of uplifting the community continues. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1983 but kept surfing and competing throughout her final years.
