t’s an exciting year for Assets School’s robotics teams. One of the school’s teams — MEAF (Metal Engineering Assets
Flamingos) — includes juniors Kyle Shindo and Logan Chan, who are both from Mililani. The team ended the season in the semi-finals and finished the season ranked fourth.
After winning the state robotics champi- onships in January, the school’s other squad, Team Waffles, is gearing up to be one of two teams representing Hawai‘i in a world cham- pionship tournament this month.
“Being a teacher for a small school where the majority of our students learn differently, I’m extremely proud of our students for show- ing the world and themselves that they are capable,” says coach Peter Han. “Our main objective in going to the world championship is to learn and bring back as much knowledge as we can, and we look forward to interacting with amazing teams from across the world.”
