I Love Kailua Town Party
Kailua Party Returns April 23
Kailua’s biggest event of the year — the 28th “I Love Kailua” Town Party — is coming up this weekend. Presented by the Lani-Kai- lua Outdoor Circle, the celebration will be held on Kailua Road from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 23.
A favorite feature of this signature community block-party is the array of food booths, from shave ice and malasadas to plate lunches and more.

LKOC states that it is proud to be celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, where for more than seven decades it has been com- mitted to enhancing the livability of Kailua through beautification, tree planting, environmental advocacy and educational outreach.
Three floors of parking will be available in the lot fronting Longs with the en- trance from Hahani Street, near Teddy’s Bigger Burg- ers. Accommodations for securing bicycles also will be available. Residents are encouraged to leave their cars at home and walk or bicycle to the pedestri- an-friendly event.
Many Kailua merchants will hold in-store and side- walk sales and offer spe- cials to those presenting their Town Party event buttons.Partygoers also can look forward to nonstop live center-stage entertainment — the Kamaʻāina Kids keiki fun zone, Adventist Health Castle’s mini health fair with free screenings and a variety of Windward community groups with in- formation to share.
“In keeping with our mission of planting for the future, proceeds from this year’s Town Party will sup- port a street tree planting project on one of Kailua’s under-canopied thorough- fares such as Keolu Drive, which lost many trees during Hurricane Iniki, and Kainalu Drive, where its highly utilized pedes- trian and bike paths would benefit greatly by having shade tree coverage,” states LKOC president Diane Harding.
