Waimānalo McDon- ald’s owner/oper- ator Vincent Lim has joined Ronald McDonald House Charities Hawai‘i’s board of directors. He will as- sist with fundraising and other essential functions that help the charity meet its mission of providing a home-away- from-home for families with children who are receiving life-saving medical care on
O‘ahu. Lim leads five restau- rants on O‘ahu and serves on the McDonald’s of Hawai‘i drive-thru, delivery and dig- ital teams. He was general manager of Waimānalo Mc- Donald’s and an operations supervisor, before becoming an approved owner/operator in December 2020. He has been active in community ser- vice as well, helping host and support high school robotics
programs, Coffee With A Cop Day, McTeacher Night fund- raisers for Hawai‘i schools and many other events to help local causes. Through- out the pandemic, Lim helped sponsor programs including providing “thank you” meals to first responders and edu- cators ... Speaking of Ron- ald McDonald House Char- ities Hawai‘i, spring is here and Windward residents can
spring into action for a good cause. RMHC has kicked off its third virtual Red Shoe 5K, which goes through April 24. Participants can walk, run, hike, bike, swim or do what- ever activity they choose, any- where, anytime during this family-friendly event. Pro- ceeds help families with se- riously ill or injured children who stay at a Ronald McDon- ald House in Hawai‘i. Regis- trants for the virtual, month- long event will be mailed a pair of RMHC signature red and white striped socks, finish line tape, a race bib, a McDon- ald’s coupon and a mystery gift. T-shirts, caps and medals will be awarded based on the amount of money each par- ticipant raises.
