Mōkapu Elementary School at Marine Corps Base Ha- wai‘i in Windward O‘ahu launched a campus-wide renovation project on Jan. 4 that will construct new class- room buildings, a playfield and a parking lot. The proj- ect received U.S. Depart- ment of Defense grants for approximately $116.5 mil- lion to upgrade and expand school facilities, with state funds providing the remain- ing $29 million ... In other news about MCBH, the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Maritime Raid Force will return to O‘ahu to conduct a series of training events throughout the island from now through Jan. 20. This exercise, known as Realis- tic Urban Training Exercise 23.1, is part of the MEU’s pre-deployment training program. RUTEX 23.1 will involve approximately 100 Marines conducting a vari- ety of mission essential tasks necessary to prepare and certify them for deployment throughout the Indo-Pacif- ic region. These events will
