Free Windward CC Training
Applications for free training at Windward Com- munity College — in fields like acute-care certified nurse aide, mental health technician and certified ar- borist prep — are now avail- able for the spring semester.
Those who may be look- ing to advance in their ca- reers or explore new job opportunities in health care, technology or skilled trades can find help at Universi- ty of Hawai‘i Community Colleges, including Wind- ward CC. The community colleges are offering free short-term training that leads to credentials in in- dustry sectors that have proved resilient during the pandemic. The training is provided through the Hana Career Pathways program.

It prepares students to apply for registered appren- ticeships and related degree programs, and connects students with work-based learning opportunities, such as paid internships and guaranteed interviews with local employers.
According to Primia- no-Holton, the staff who were hired from the Hana Career Pathways program are doing well in their new jobs.
The program is free for most eligible participants, since much of the training provides a 100% tuition subsidy to cover all costs. Wrap-around services are also offered to students, in- cluding college and career advising, referrals to com- munity partners with sup- portive services and other financialassistance.
