Waimānalo Country Farms Fall Harvest Festival Starts Oct. 1

    As a fifth-generation mem- ber of the Waimānalo Coun- try Farms family, Cheyenne Adams wears multiple hats and embraces her responsibil- ity as the oldest sibling help- ing to steward the 52-acre Windward side expanse.
“Our farm was started in 1948 by my great-grand- uncle, Ronald Wong,” says Adams, who serves as the farms’ event coordinator, so- cial media manager and web- site manager, along with all the other duties necessary to maintain a farm. “We started as a produce-to-truck farm and then grew various crops from watermelon in the 1960s and corn in the 1970s to sun- flowers, pumpkins and even beekeeping at present day.”
