Can Get Monetary Help
Struggling homeowners in Windward O‘ahu may be eligible for some financial assistance.
Thegrantcanassisthome- owners with back and pro- spective utilities, car repair/ registration fees, cell phone service, and personal loans used to pay off utilities. Fi- nancial assistance is paired with a free session of finan- cial counseling, done either virtually or in person.
Hawaiian Community As- sets has more than $100,000 to help Windward O‘ahu residents pay their monthly bills, the organization an- nounces. HCA is a nonprofit that works to help local fam- ilies achieve financial and rental stability and ultimate- ly homeownership.
Funding for the grant is available while it lasts to Windward O‘ahu residents through the end of 2022.
HCA has partnered with the Harold K.L. Castle Foundation to offer residents the Windward O‘ahu Home- owner Assistance Fund, which recently expanded to offer grants of up to $1,000 per person (80% area medi- an income and below).
