MARCH 23, 2022
March is Women’s History Month, and what better way to honor female artists of the past than to focus on the artists of the future. The legacy of well-known female artists lives on in two emerging young artists from the Windward side — Kalāheo High School junior Liv Deeley and Kailua High sophomore Eve Teraoka. They are featured artists this month in the HERstory Through the Arts Exhibit, currently at THE ARTS at Marks Garage in Honolulu.
Deeley began to believe in

Windward Teenage Artists Are Making ‘HERstory’
“When I started getting more involved with my drawing and painting class at Kalāheo, I realized that this was something that I wanted to really study and improve on,” Deeley says.
Meanwhile, Eve Terao- ka is the daughter of noted artists Masami Teraoka and Lynda Hess. She is a child of the arts, whether it is painting or drawing, playing the guitar or dancing ballet. Teraoka credits much of her current work to the influence of Wong Kar-Wai, a cinema-
