inghouse (CCH) partnered to raise money for furniture for 30 families in need. Overall, fam- ilies received more than $4,000 worth of furni- ture and home goods from IKEA.
“Some of the larger items being donated are dressers, dining sets and sofas,” says haul2hi owner Jane Murao.
Additionally, the families were given shower curtains, bathroom rugs, pots and pans, dish- es, flatware and even some closet organization pieces.
“Furniture is one of the most requested items for CCH families because of how expensive it can be,” Murao says. “A portion of the proceeds from all sales in April went to this campaign and was augmented by donations from the community made through the Helping Hands Hawai‘i donor network.”
To participate in the campaign, families needed to apply, then, once approved, sched- ule an appointment to visit Community Clear-
