February was a great month at the state Capitol. On Valen- tine’s Day, parents from near and far gathered to rally for parental rights. It aimed to protect the rights of parents to direct the upbringing, edu- cation and health care of their minor children. The proposed legislation would prohibit a government entity from in- fringing upon these rights. The goal was to ensure that minors don’t make life-alter- ing medical, health care and mental health care decisions without the guidance and sup-
