Local Pest Company Moves To Kapolei

loha Pest and Termite Control has been getting rid of unwanted visi- tors in Hawai‘i homes since 1999,
handling pests all year round, whether it’s ants, roaches, bed bugs, rats and, sometimes, even feral pigs. The statewide company first launched on O‘ahu, and in 2006, owner Jon Montalbo took the business to Kaua‘i. Throughout the years, the company expand- ed to Maui and Hawai‘i Island, too.
Recently, Aloha Pest made the move from Wahiawā to Barbers Point. As of today, the company has more than a hundred employ- ees.
“What’s been super cool about our busi- ness is that we started really small,” says Montalbo. “I started on Kaua‘i with three people and one truck. Not only has our busi- ness grown, but our employees, too — our branch manager on Kaua‘i started out as a pest control tech in 2008 and worked her way up as the company grew. It’s been amazing to see this kind of organic growth, despite those tough times that go with running your own
