University of Hawai‘i Cancer Center is currently looking for O‘ahu men and women between the ages of 35 and 69, who are overweight or obese, have not smoked in the past two years, and are of Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Native Hawaiian or Pacif- ic Islander ancestry to take part in a study. Participants will be randomly assigned to diets for 24 weeks under the supervision of a dieti- tian, and will also be asked to follow an exercise plan. This will help the center’s research determine if specif- ic changes in dietary habits and regular physical activity will reduce disease risk.
