Just in time to catch the latest superhero mov- ie, Consolidated The- atres’ Kapolei Entertainment Center will reopen its doors March 3 with a new menu created by chef Adrienne Ishizu and enhanced accom- modations. The lobby was designed by Fred Dagdagan and inspired by the grand his- toric movie palaces operated by Consolidated Theatres over the last century. “For generations, our theater at the Kapolei Entertainment Center has been a welcoming place for friends and ‘ohana,” states division manager Rod Tengan. “Since its closure at the start of the pandem- ic, Consolidated Theatres sought to reinvest in this venue that has held so many movie memories, so people could come back to some- thing really special. We are providing the best movie ex- periences across our island
communities, with safety and aloha for our guests always our priority.” Visit consoli- datedtheatres.com ... Com- ing up March 1 is the dead- line for Kaiser Permanente’s Health Equity Scholarship Program, during which Grad- uating high school seniors can apply for a $2,500 schol- arship. To qualify, they must plan to enroll in a university or community college for the 2022-23 school year. Stu- dents must also have a mini- mum GPA of 2.5 and demon- strate an interest in pursuing a clinical (physician, phar- macist, practitioner, nurse) or non-clinical (accounting, business administration, fi- nance, human resources, marketing, operations, public policy) career in the health care industry. have been concerned about having a reliable source of clean drinking water. That’s why the Board of Water Supply has launched a new e-newsletter called Waiwai to provide the community, in- cluding West O‘ahu, with op- erational updates, water con- servation tips and more. “The numerous emails, phone calls and other feedback we have received all indicate that many in our community are understandably concerned about our drinking water,” states manager and chief engineer Ernie Lau. “The BWS team has taken every opportunity to provide accu- rate, timely information in re- sponse to their questions, and our new e-newsletter will be another way to share about our response efforts or proac- tive measures we are taking.” Visit boardofwatersupply. com/protectoahuwater ... gkeller@midweek.com
