throughout Hawai‘i so more students are involved with the rapidly evolving tech- nology that plays such an important role in daily life.
When DreamHouse ‘Ewa Beach eighth- grade founding computer science coach Cerina Livaudais heard about the Congres- sional App Challenge through a colleague, she thought it would be a great opportunity to provide another access point for stu- dents to engage in computer and applica- tion coding.
“I first got involved in teaching computer science because I have always believed that access to computer science education is a justice issue, and wanted to see more Native Hawaiian and underrepresented folks repre- sented in the tech industry,” says Livaudais.
