Ed Case re- cently announced the passage of the IN- VEST in America Act, a $715 billion five-year federal gov- ernment expenditure for the country’s surface transporta- tion and water infrastructure. Case sought $20 million for local initiatives, which in- clude nearly $3.7 million for battery electric buses and the electrification of route 40 (Ala Moana to Mākaha), and more than $6.1 million for the Leeward Bikeway (ʻEwa to Waipahu).
