Tiny Homes Are Going Up In Kalaeloa’s Kama‘okū Community
Last fall, nonprofit HomeAid Hawai‘i began construction on a Kalaeloa-based master-planned village, which is tailored for local families experiencing homelessness. Upon completion, Kama‘okū community will feature 36 tiny homes with an 80-square-foot interior and 20-square-foot lānai. Ward Village, in partnership with general contractor Albert C. Kobayashi Inc., built the first two homes. “We’re deeply grateful for the generous contributions of companies like Ward Village
and Albert C. Kobayashi Inc., who believe in our organization’s critical mission,” states Nani Medeiros, executive director
of HomeAid Hawai‘i. “Their support helps us to continue building new lives and provide safe homes for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.” PHOTOS COURTESY WARD VILLAGE
