estside girls in grades 8-12 can apply for the CompuGirls Hawaiʻi Spring Camp 2021
through Feb. 12. The free, virtual program hopes to teach students everything from STEM education to cybersecurity and in- formation technology. No experience is necessary to join.
Slated to run from Feb. 20 to April 24, the camp consists of nine two-hour ses- sions each Saturday, and participants will have full access to the curriculum and ac- tivities. Weekly themes include introduc- tions to cybersecurity and cryptography, digital citizenship and cracking encryp- tion.
“CompuGirls Hawaiʻi provides Ha- waiʻi girls with the unique opportunity to explore cybersecurity and IT with access to mentors, job shadowing and industry in- ternships,” states Jodi Ito, chair of Cyber- Hawaiʻi and chief information security of- ficer of University of Hawai‘i. “Following the success of our fall 2020 program, we
