Bringing a classic back to life, Roald Dahl’s children’s book Matilda once again sprinkles magic in families’ homes with Matilda the Musical — now streaming on Netflix. Alisha Weir plays the
titular role, and acts alongside Lashana Lynch, Stephen Graham and this British actress who
surprisingly stars as the antagonist Miss Trunchbull, when she is usually cast as much sweeter characters, such as Sybill Trelawney in the Harry Potter series.
On a recent Friday morning, the lead actors of Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, had a booth in Costco Iwilei to promote their tequila brand, Dos Hombres, and pose for photos with fans. This summer, catch Cranston in Asteroid City, a Wes Anderson fifilm. Meanwhile, Paul recently starred in the final season of this hit Breaking Bad prequel about a small-time Albuquerque-based lawyer.
Season two of Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia has surpassed Wednesday and Emily In Paris as the most-watched English series this week on the streaming platform. The show follows a mother and daughter duo as they navigate the typical family drama as well as some darker secrets. The show stars Antonia Gentry as Ginny and this actress, a regular on
Fox’s The Exorcist and The Passage as a mother with killer instincts.
The Hitcher hit theaters 16 years ago this week. The thriller, which is a remake of the 1986 film of the same name, stars Sophia Bush and Zachary Knighton. The plot follows the couple as they drive across New Mexico for spring break. The ominous hitchhiker who ruins their plans is portrayed by this English actor who played the antagonist in National Treasure and Zeus in Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief.
