Remembering Lessons From The Past Year
A s 2022 comes to a close, we reflect on things and people that have shaped our year. It is with gratitude and gentle reminders in my everyday life that I am able to see the bless- ings in people and teaching moments that come my way. So I asked friends, “What is one ritual that you are grate-
ful for?”
“I remember my parents saying, ‘It’s nice to be import- ant, but more important to be nice.’ It costs us nothing and you never know what kind of impact you could have.”

“My morning ritual, which helps me to set my day right, is to spend some time with my two service dogs, Hi‘ilani and Allie. Their uncondition- al love puts me in a positive mood to face the day no mat- ter what comes with it.”
