There’s a lot of Oscar buzz surrounding Armageddon Time, filmmaker James Gray’s powerful coming-of-age story set in 1980s New York. Banks Repeta stars as the young protagonist Paul
Graff. The rest of the all-star cast includes Anne Hathaway as his mother, Anthony Hopkins as
his grandfather and this Succession actor — who delivers a very un-Succession-like performance — as his father.
Dwayne Johnson is keeping busy this holiday season by producing films such as Shazam! Fury of
the Gods, slated to release March 17. He has even launched a new franchise: the action-adventure holiday film Red One, set to release Christmas 2023. Johnson stars in the film with Chris Evans, J.K. Simmons and this American actress known for her famous roles as Alex in Charlie’s Angels and O-Ren Ishii in Kill Bill: Vol.1.
Dubbed a modern-day Christmas staple, Love Actually (streaming now on Peacock and Amazon Prime) follows the intertwining love lives of nine Brits during the holiday season. The ensemble cast includes rom-com veteran Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley, Alan Rickman, Emma Thompson and this actor, who went on to play the lead in a hit
post-apocalyptic TV show that premiered its series finale last month after a 12-year run.
Les Misérables, which hit theaters 10 years ago this week, is based on a musical and novel of the same name. The period film is set in the early 19th century in France and stars Hugh Jackman in the role of Jean Valjean, an ex-prisoner. The movie also features Russell Crowe, Helena Bonham Carter and this blonde actress, who rose to fame after her performance in Mean Girls.
