DECEMBER 7, 2022 MIDWEEK 7
From The Hearts Of Grateful Keiki
During this season of thankful hearts, we turn to the students of Keʻelikōlani Middle School to read some of their thoughts on gratitude and the spirit of giving.
“I am grateful for my dad who never forgets my birth- day, my grandparents who took care of me for almost 10 years, my friends who always have my back and my teachers who make sure I learn.”
Jayleen Lucio
“I’ve met many people with gratitude, like my teach- er, Mr. Sakai. He’s kind and funny. He teaches us in a fun
way and sometimes he will be strict when we talk loud or play during class time.”
Keyonani Gold
“During your lifetime, there are many things and people you are grateful for without even noticing it. Personally, I’m grateful for my family. They are always there to help me, give advice, comfort me and are good people to talk with. Without my parents, I wouldn’t have a roof over my head, food, daily conver- sations and the care they give me.IknowifIeverhavea problem, they’ll always help and give me advice. I want to thank my family. They have no
idea how much they mean to me. The majority of my good experiences have been with them. I could never regret the time spent with my family.”
Charwin Irebaria
“I am thankful for God and how he died on the cross for us so we could be better hu- mans. God has made me want to do good things. If it was not for him, I would not be where I am right now. God also stopped me from doing bad things. I thank the man above. I will always remember him as my Lord and Savior.”
Kayley Reyes
“There’s a lot of things to be grateful for in life like modern technology. Because
of that I was able to meet dif- ferent, nice people online who are willing to make time for me despite being completely anonymous to each other. I’m also thankful for my abili- ties. I know not everyone in the world is as lucky to get a complete set of abilities like reading, writing, hearing and more. I am lucky enough to have one or two abilities, but I’ m thankful for what I have and that’s why I use my abil- ities for something positive.”
Reiko Mari Ramos
“I’m grateful for food. There are so many people living on the streets that have nothing to eat. Although my family doesn’t have much money, they still make sure
they provide me with the food I need to keep me healthy.”
Rose Laron
“I’m most thankful for my dad. One reason why is be- cause he works so hard to buy food for us so we don’t starve. He tries his best to spend time with us even though he is tired. He spoils us even if he’s low on money just to make us smile. He does a lot for us and I’ m really thankful to have a father that will do anything to make his kids happy.”
Hannah Lastino
“I am thankful that the Lord is helping my family get through struggles and for pro- tecting us. I am thankful for my mom and dad for helping me
with things I can’t do. I’m also thankful for my two brothers because when I get bored I make them mad so they chase me. I’m most thankful for my grandma because she protects me and helps me to get through difficult times.”
Hemerson Benito
“There are many things in the world to be grateful about and for me it’s my parents. They give me food, a roof to live under and most impor- tantly, love.”
Sean Lopez
