Lane “Kaiwi” Opulauoho has joined Carlsmith Ball LLP as an associate in the law firm’s tax and estate planning group. He was previously a clerk for Chief Judge R. Mark Browning of the First Circuit Court of O‘ahu. He also clerked for Judge Karen Nakasone of the Intermediate Court of Appeals. Opulauoho received his law degree from University of Hawai‘i’s William S. Richardson School of Law.
Maileen Yamada joins architectural firm InForm Design as marketing coordinator. She will help manage and execute marketing and business development strategies. Yamada brings to the position a background in digital marketing strategies, including search engine optimization, email marketing and social media.
Tyler Brooks has been promoted from assistant superintendent to superintendent at Nordic PCL Construction Inc. Brooks joined the company as a project engineer and spent the past two years working on the state Department of Education’s Kīhei High School project on Maui.

Dr. Melissa Corson is a board-certified gastroenterologist at Adventist Health Castle. She will care for patients with colon cancer, peptic ulcerative disease and other gastrointestinal issues. A graduate of University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa’s John A. Burns School of Medicine, she completed her gastroenterology fellowship and internal medicine residency at University of California, Los Angeles.
Joe Dumapit enters Mid-Pacific Institute as director of compliance and risk management. He will implement and maintain Mid-Pac’s risk-management processes and programs, and develop compliance and workplace procedures, including for the school’s health and safety systems.
Carly Clement has been appointed to vice president of operations for Outrigger Hawai‘i’s Condos Division. She will lead the division, implementing strategies that retain existing owners and attract new buyers. Clement was most recently general manager at the Lotus Honolulu/Hotel Renew.
