looking for quick and easy things to make — starting with this Halloween wreath. If you can tie a knot, you won’t have any problems with this project.
frame. I add ribbon to two layers of rings. You could also weave deco mesh or garland through the rings.
   SUPPLIES AND TOOLS:
• 18-inch box wreath frame
• black Sugar’N Cream yarn
• three or more 10-yard rolls of 2 1/2-inch wired ribbon, assorted Halloween prints/colors
• scissors
• ruler or yardstick for
measuring
• 6-inch tulle in Halloween colors, optional
I start with a wire wreath form. Then, I take yarn and tie it to the edges of the in- nermost ring. Crisscross- ing the yarn creates a star medallion in the center of the wreath. Next, I build the web by tying the yarn “spokes” to each other. Go- ing around the circle, creat- ing several rows of the tied yarn “spokes,” and you’ll get a simple spider web. I don’t worry about the knots from the tied-off yarn be-
Now that you have your base Halloween spider web wreath, you can embellish by adding lights, floral picks or a spider.
You can also use this wreath as a countdown to Halloween. Number treat holders 1-13 and clip them to the wreath. Like an ad- vent calendar, start count- ing down from Oct. 19 and you’ ll get the last treat on Halloween.
You’ll find this project sheet and more online at benfranklinhawaii.com.
1 The frame has nine outer sec- tions you can use as
a guide. Measure out 5 yards of yarn. To start, tie the end of the yarn to one of the sections’ wire dividers. Go across the center of the wreath and tie to
a divider on the opposite side.
2 Continue crisscrossing until you have yarn tied to each hook. Securely knot
the end of the yarn and cut off excess.
3Tie yarn to one of the strands about
2 inches down from the frame. Move to the next strand on the right and wrap yarn around
and tie to that strand.
