Michael White has been appointed to the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority’s board of directors. White is the general manager of Kā‘anapali Beach Hotel and The Plantation Inn on Maui. He was formerly a member and chair of the Maui County Council representing Makawao, Ha‘ikū and Pā‘ia, and previously a state legislator representing West Maui, Moloka‘ī, Lāna‘i and Kaho‘olawe.
Andrea Hepuapo‘okela Hermosura is director of diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice, and caregiver wellness at The Queen’s Health System. Hermosura has been a staff psychologist at Queen’s since 2018 and is an assistant professor in the Department of Native Hawaiian Health at University of Hawai‘i’s John A. Burns School of Medicine.
Matthew Morgan has been named to Chaminade University’s board of governors. He is the chief business process officer and a member of the Global Management Committee of Teneo in New York. He began his career in the U.S. Army and was awarded a Bronze Star for his service in Afghanistan.

Jill Kuramoto has been appointed by Gov. David Ige to the state Foundation on Culture and the Arts Commission. She will support the art agency’s mission of promoting, perpetuating, and preserving culture and the arts. Kuramoto is a former broadcast journalist with years of experience in media production and public relations. She also serves on the selection committee for the Living Treasures of Hawai‘i program.
William “Kahele” Naeole returns to Castle Hospitality Group as its director of e-commerce. Naeole has 18 years of experience in the field, with extensive knowledge in search engine optimization, search engine marketing, digital marketing, web content and public relations. He was previously senior e-commerce manager for Castle from 2016 to 2022.
Caroline Julian-Freitas joins Ulupono Initiative as director of communications and community. She will manage all of Ulupono’s communication campaigns and programs. She previously held positions in state government, including communications director for the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.
