aiser Permanente Hawai‘i has been supporting local nonprof- its since opening more than 60
   years ago. Throughout the pandemic, the organization has been on the frontlines caring for Hawai‘i’s sick, and work- ing with partners to address the social and economic impacts of COVID-19. Last year, Kaiser Permanente provid- ed $3.8 million in grants to support 50 community organizations that offered COVID-19 response, housing and food assistance.
“Kaiser Permanente exists to serve the community,” says David Tumilo- wicz, senior director of marketing and community health. “Our mission is to provide high-quality, affordable health- care and to improve the health of the communities we serve.”
 Grant funding went toward pandemic relief, housing and homeless services, food security, safety net services, which includes the expansion of telehealth of- ferings, and local scholarships.
