24 MIDWEEK March 16, 2022
TWO YEARS IN
Reflections and Gratitude
This week we pause to observe the 2-year anniversary of the World Health Organization declaring COVID-19 a global pandemic. Throughout 2 years of fear, loss, uncertainty, exhaustion, and perseverance, our communities came together.
Gratitude for those who care for us
We give sincere thanks to our Kaiser Permanente caregivers—including our physicians and nurses — and all our staff, whose own lives have been upended by the pandemic. The compassion and excellence you bring to our patients inspires us all. For scientists and researchers at Kaiser Permanente and across the globe, we are forever in your debt.
Honoring our members, patients, and their families
We extend our gratitude to our members and patients, and to your families, for your patience and support as we made necessary changes to keep you and others safe and supported. We know it hasn’t been easy. Thank you also for showing your continued appreciation for our heroic staff. It has been our honor to care for you and your families during this tremendously challenging time.
Praising our partners
We take pride in our labor partners who served to strengthen our pandemic response. And, there are many wonderful organizations in our communities that are bringing vaccinations and trusted information to the most vulnerable people we serve. We salute you for your commitment to others and look forward to our continued collective efforts.
With gratitude, heartfelt thanks, and hope for a bright future.
