Kimberli Sakamoto has been promoted to associate account executive for Atlas Insurance Agency Inc. in the personal lines department. In her new role, Sakamoto will help existing clients, generate new business by continuing her networking efforts to meet new referral sources and provide educational webinars/seminars to clients. Prior to this, she was senior account manager and has been with the agency for four years.
Marko Vasic is an internal medicine specialist for Wahiawā Health. Vasic will apply scientific knowledge and clinical expertise to diagnose medical problems and provide ongoing treatment of chronic illnesses. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Neurology.
Gayle Tasaka is recognized as a 2021 Outstanding Professional Advisor in Philanthropy by Hawai‘i Community Foundation. Tasaka is a certified public accountant for individual taxpayers, estates and trusts. Prior to opening her own business, she was a senior tax manager for Deloitte & Touche. Honorees are able to recommend a Hawai‘i nonprofit of their choice to receive a $2,000 grant, and Tasaka chose Hawai‘i Literacy.

Dean Hazama is director of finance for Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation. Hazama oversees departments of finance and budget, purchasing and contract administration and claims. He will be responsible for planning, directing and managing HART fiscal operations including budgeting, grant management, accounting, procurement, contracts oversight and construction claims.
Dawn Szewczyk has been appointed director of the Department of Facility Maintenance for City & County of Honolulu. She was previously deputy public works officer of the U.S. Department of Navy and served as primary adviser to the public works officer. Szewczyk has experience in facilities planning, design, utilities and environmental services. She received her bachelor’s in engineering from Loyola Marymount University.
Bentley Kam is an independent insurance producer for Finance Insurance. Kam has over 30 years of knowledge and experience in the insurance industry. He focuses on business insurance for all types of industries — retail, wholesalers, contractors, restaurants, bars and more. Kam is an avid supporter and volunteer of the Aloha Council of Boy Scouts of America.
