Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii seeks the services of one full-time personal service contract Medical Physicist. The positon will consist of providing services in the Radiation Oncology Service, Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week. The contract duration will include a one-year base period (1 October 2021 – 30 September 2022), plus four one-year option periods, and the FAR 52.217-8 Option to Extend.
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Physics who is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiological Physics.
EXPERIENCE: (1) Minimum of ten (10) years of experience (excluding training/residency) working in an environment covered by the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and experience in working with NRC licensing of regulated materials; (2) Experience in commissioning state of the art Varian systems is required (Varian Trilogy, ARIA, GammaMed HDR Afterloader); (3) Minimum of ten (10) years current active experience in all aspects of linear accelerator QA/calibration required including implementation of TG-142; (4) Experience with commissioning Philips Pinnacle V9.1.0 (Smart Arc), Varian Eclipse V11 (Rapid Arc) including implementation of ACUROS algorithm. Experience shall be within a minimum of 5 years prior to commencement of services under this contract. (5) Current experience with commissioning SBRT (stereotactic body radiotherapy) and frameless SRS (stereotactic radiosurgery) in a Varian environment. Experience shall be within a minimum of 5 years prior to commencement of services under this contract; (6) Must possess strong treatment planning skills on Eclipse V11 (Rapid Arc) and Philips Pinnacle V9.10 (Smart Arc). Planning experience to include SRS and SBRT VMAT techniques. Experience shall be a minimum of 3 years within the last 5 years prior to commencement of services under this contract; (7) Must have experience with the ACR accreditation process. Experience shall include extensive knowledge leading to the annual ACR accreditation. Experience shall be within a minimum of 5 years prior to commencement of services under this contract; (8) Experience in designing shielding for linear accelerator/ HDR rooms required. Experience shall be once within the past 10 years prior to commencement of services under this contract; (9) Strong clinical experience (including commissioning) of HDR/LDR brachytherapy systems, including prostate seed implants required. Experience shall be a minimum of 3 years within the last 5 years prior to commencement of services under this contract; and (10) Must be listed on a current NRC license for HDR and LDR brachytherapy.
