H awai‘i scouts are looking for- ward to honoring our country’s fallen heroes this Memorial Day after having to cancel this longstanding tradition last year due to the coronavirus. Boy Scouts of America, Aloha Council’s Memorial Day Good Turn Project will resume on Sunday, May 30, as our Scouts and “Scouters” (family, friends and sup- porters of Scouts) gather at National Me- morial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punch- bowl to decorate every grave marker with
Foodbank and organizing an active food drive on the day of the event. We encour- age our scouting ‘ohana, friends and the public to drop off canned goods as a way to further support the community. All donat- ed food will be given to Hawai‘i Foodbank to support families in need.

community service project, the Memorial Day Good Turn Project underscores the commitment Scouts have made to give back to the community.
Aloha Council encourages all scouting units to join us for a great day of service. We encourage Scouts, leaders and parents at all levels to sign up to register for this event. If you would like to donate canned goods to our event, a food drive will be set up from noon to 2 p.m.
