 Islands Hospice Gives $60K To Nonprofits
     The Islands Hospice employee giving program, known as Makana Pono, marked its first anniversary in September 2020 and contributed $60,000 to local nonprofits by awarding outstanding employees with a $5,000 donation to a nonprofit of their choice. The Honolulu Authority for RapidTransportation presents its 2021 Student Art Poster Contest, which is OPEN TO ALL O’AHU HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS in the 9th to 12th grades attending public, charter, private or home school.
Students can createTRADITIONAL OR DIGITAL ARTWORK to convey the theme of a “Train Ride to A Brighter Future.”
Each entry category will have FIRST THROUGH THIRD PLACE WINNERS. Win great prizes!

CONTEST RULES
THEME: TRAIN RIDE TO A BRIGHTER FUTURE!
The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) asks • students to convey the theme of how we are on the right track to a brighter future with the trains. By riding the train, there will be fewer • cars on the road, less traffic congestions and a more convenient and • economical way of travel. Since the train runs on electricity, there will
be less pollution. Riders will experience a comfortable journey with • free Wi-Fi and air conditioned trains. You may use that time to read, • study, and surf the internet.
ELIGIBILITY: • The HART Art Contest is open to all Oahu high school students in the
9th to 12th grade attending public, charter, private or home school. CONTEST DETAILS: •
• Artwork is due on Friday, March 12, 2021.
• Entries may be emailed to moonyun.pellerin@honolulu.gov •
• Traditional artwork may be scanned and emailed in a JPG
All entries should be accompanied by a complete entry form along with the artwork.
HART is not responsible for entry forms which are missing. Posters may be single-sided on 12”X18” dimension in either landscape or portrait format.
