‘Aiea’s Dusendschon Paints A Picture Of Nostalgia

in “Iconic O‘ahu: Buildings, Beaches, and Backroads” during the month of May at The ARTS at Marks Garage. His paintings — whether rendered in graphite, pen and ink, oils, watercolors, or now in acrylics — bring to mind a quieter, gentler time on O‘ahu.

about Dusendschon: “Every Saturday for the last 10 years, Bob Dusendschon rises early in his ‘Aiea home and packs art supplies and easel in his car and meets his fellow 15 artists at another scenic locale to paint the landscape, and to Bob, the more remote the better.

Dusendschon has been fo- cused on art since childhood.
Who inspires him? Dusend- schon explains, “There are so many great artists in this world that we can draw inspi- ration from ... currently, the primary force in motivating me is Mark Brown’s weekly Plein Air classes. Brown is a dynamic, dedicated and a tru- ly inspirational teacher!”
