LOCAL TEEN SHOWS YOU ‘CAN’ MAKE A DIFFERENCE

So far, Bottles4College has collected and recycled approximately 437,357 cans and bottles, which translates to $21,883.53. Most recently, it hosted a collection drive at Pearl- ridge Center, where approximately 93,129 HI-5 recyclables were donated. Price’s goal

Price is putting his free time to good use for the community. Four years ago, Price came up with the innovative idea of Bottles4Col- lege, where he and other volunteers collect cans and bottles to help pay for kids’ college tuition.
“I wanted to help address social issues and make higher education more accessible,” says Price. “I knew there were many fami- lies that face the challenges of high cost of living and having extra costs are unfeasible. I also wanted to help preserve our beautiful is- lands. I thought, ‘Why not create something that can be a community effort and help many more people instead?’”
